Mason Barrett

I was born and raised in North Carolina and have lived in all four major US time zones, but thanks to my wife Cynthia (my better half in every sense of the word), I now call both the Texas Hill Country and the Wasatch Back "home."

I started my career as an officer in the Navy. I’m proud to have served my country in uniform, even briefly. My volunteer efforts over the past few years have focused on empowering and giving back to my fellow veterans, chiefly through opportunities in higher education.

I worked the next few years in management consulting, partnering with Fortune 500 and mid-market clients' leadership and front-line teams to tackle their toughest strategic and operational challenges. Don't worry; the military taught me to shoot straight, so I'll leave the consulting buzzwords behind.

More recently, I created and led the Product team at a privately held experiential entertainment company. My team and I brought exciting new products to life that contributed several million dollars in annual profits to the company, strengthened partnerships with our front-line teammates, and raised wages across the board.

In my spare time, I’m an avid traveler, skydiver, skier, mountain biker, and scuba diver.

I earned a Bachelor’s degree, cum laude, from Duke University and an MBA with distinction from Harvard Business School. While at HBS, I served as a co-President of the Armed Forces Alumni Association (“Vets Club”). I spent my entire second year of MBA coursework focused on entrepreneurship and preparing to identify, acquire, and successfully lead a small business.
